Bill Millard
Dr. Bill Millard serves as the Executive Director of the Center for Life Calling and Leadership at Indiana Wesleyan University. Bill brings together over thirty years of research, experience and application as a life explorer and leading theorist in calling and purpose. His work has helped thousands to discover the components that go into a sense of calling and develop the tools for unleashing the power of purpose in their lives. Bill is also the author of Explorers Guide: Starting Your College Journey with a Sense of Purpose (2007, Kendall/Hunt Publishing).
Bill is a Professor of Leadership Studies at IWU and teaches in both the undergraduate and doctoral programs in leadership. Bill also serves as an advisor to businesses and nonprofit organizations in the area of leadership assessment, organizational mobilization, strategic planning, and change implementation. He has extensive professional experience in the corporate and nonprofit sectors as well as in church and education sectors. As a public speaker, Bill has engaged audiences both nationally and internationally.
Bill actively pursues research and development in the area of psychometrics, a branch of psychology that deals with the design, administration, and interpretation of quantitative tools for the measurement of variables and factors that contribute to human uniqueness. Bill earned his doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Pepperdine University with honors. He completed his undergraduate studies in history, Greek, and law. He has also earned graduate degrees in secondary education, religion, and in geology. He has been recognized by Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Xi for his scholarship.
Bill was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, but lived the majority of his adult life in California. His wife Anita is a registered nurse working in the field of hospice. They have lived in Indiana since November of 1999. They have two adult sons.
