Center Advising Life Coaching Leadership Program High School Institute Office of Career Development

Program Overview

By electing to partner with the Center for Life Calling & Leadership (CLCL) and providing internships to IWU students, you are able to play an integral part in facilitating a student’s academic and career success. Whether or not you have an established internship program at your organization, the CLCL can provide resources to help you start or enhance the experiences you offer.

Step One: Fill out an application to become a preferred site. This indicates your desire to partner with IWU and facilitate a learning experience for select qualified students. The application includes company information as well as an internship job description and preference of student majors. Once you have filled out the form, save it and attach it in an email and send to our Enterprise Community Developer.

Step Two: Contact IWU’s Enterprise Community Developer who will assist you throughout the application process. This individual will answer questions, help in designing an internship job description that will be attractive to our top students, and advise you on program details.

Step Three: Read and agree to the Site Expectations. This document outlines what we expect you to provide student interns.

Step Four: Our office will make every effort to locate candidates whose academic preparation, interests, and strengths fit the qualifications outlined in your internship position description. We will screen and refer interested students to your organization so that you can interview and select your intern. Once you select an intern, our office will collaborate with you in supporting the intern throughout the experience.

Please note: because an internship is an elective academic option for most IWU students, the Center for Life Calling & Leadership cannot guarantee students for any specific semester.
